The ginseng plant is widely used in many different parts of the world like China, Japan, and Korea since a long period of time because of its innumerable benefits.

It can benefit different kinds of psychiatric and neurological conditions. At the same time it is also useful for increasing the vitality.

They are available in many different varieties: Some of the common forms include the Asian (Panax ginseng), American (Panax quinquefolius), and Siberian (Eleutherococcus Chinensis).

The Siberian ginseng also is quite common but it does not belong in the same genus like that of the Asian or American. Moreover, it does not contain same ingredients like those.

The Asian ginseng helps to raise the temperature of the body while on the other hand the American is comparatively less heating and stimulating. The different ginseng products are available with different dosages and different combinations. Consequently, the effect achieved is also less.

It’s major benefit as a sexual enhancer:

Supplementation of Ginseng has been used for a long period of time especially as a sex stimulant. The major ingredients present in this root helps in the production of nitric oxide which consequently dilates the blood vessels.

This in turn might also lead to the improvement of the condition of erectile dysfunction in men. Thus it can be said that it acts as a good sex herb. There are however, other sexual herbs like horny goat weed, tongkat ali, tribulus terrestris, mucuna pruriens, muira puama, catuaba, yohimbe, etc which are also quite useful.

Helps in sexual enhancement

In many Asian countries, this particular herb has been used since a long period of time as a sexual booster. In fact, it greatly enhances the sexual stamina.

However, till some time ago only few studies were conducted about the exact effect of this herb. In the recent years, a team at the University of Ulsan and the Korean Ginseng and Tobacco Research Institute in Seoul conducted a study with trying red ginseng in about 45 men who suffered from the condition of erectile dysfunction.

These 45 men were given about 900 milligrams of ginseng. In some case, many were suggested to go for an inactive placebo pill for three time everyday day.

They were studied for eight weeks and were sent for treatment for 2 weeks. Following this they were given treatments for another 8 weeks.

It was found that men who were under study with ginseng experienced a higher sexual desire and satisfaction during intercourse compared to those who were on the placebo.

The men also reported that they could achieve and maintain longer erection due to the consumption of ginseng. 60% of men reported about improved erections compared to that of 20% reports from men taking placebo. The herb however, did not have a significant effect on the levels of testosterone.

Though there were improvements in the sexual vigor and stamina yet the study did not find any kind of improvement in the flow of blood into the penis when taking ginseng. There were improvements in the erectile function but they did not experience frequent ejaculations or an enhancement in their orgasms.

The recent studies concluded the both the Asian and the American forms of ginseng can boost up the libido and copulatory performance. The significant effects of the herb might not be the result of the secretion of the hormonal changes, but the components create significant effects on both the central nervous system and the gonadal tissues.

Research has found out evidence of the fact that ginsenosides can enhance the erection of the penis by directly inducing the effect of vasodilatation as well as relaxation of the penile corpus cavernosum.

At the same time, the effects of the corpus cavernosum seem to be mediated especially by the release and the consequent modification of the release of nitric oxide which comes from the endothelial cells and perivascular nerves.

More and more animal studies give evidence supporting the use of ginseng in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. At the same time it also gives evidence to the role played by nitric oxide in the mechanism of the action of ginsenosides.

Ginseng Used For Sexual Enhancement

The main function of the ginseng is to provide support to the adrenal glands, which is mainly responsible for the production of hormones. In fact, it is these hormones that enable the penis to have erections.

Apart from that, this stimulating herb is also known to bring about a modulation and relaxation in the emotional stress thereby boosting up the overall energy along with the libido.

It has also been found that this herb can increase the levels of testosterone which is responsible for stimulating the sexual response in both men and women. Within a short period of time like a week people start to notice an increase in the level of their energy.

However, this herb should always be taken after consulting a doctor.
